just in time
On December 23rd, our Dossier was sent to Bulgaria. A dossier is a complied packet that includes your home study, all important documents for ALL family members (including pets), government background checks, pictures, medical, house and financial information. SO MUCH PAPERWORK.
It is almost surreal that it left just in time for Christmas. I almost cannot believe and it makes me feel ALL the feels. I am of course over the moon excited that we are one step closer to meeting this sweet boy but also so scared and so nervous. It's complicated.
During this crazy time of year, its like time has just instantly slowed down. Not in a bad way but almost a peaceful way, a quiet way. In such a slowed way that we truly felt Christmas. This Christmas I am focused on Bulgarian Christmas traditions. I am doubtful that little D has had much exposure to traditional Christmas traditions so I am learning. On Christmas eve/Christmas day we cracked walnuts, ate vegetarian food, drank spiced coffee, and I made baklava.
We have worked very hard to get to this point yet here we are and I feel a little panicked at the thought of all the events that will unfold over the next serval months. We know that we probably won't hear anything for the next few weeks. Our guess is that our first trip will be late February or early-ish March. But we are pretty much ready to jump on a plane tomorrow. For now, we wait for an approved dossier and official referral!
